Karnataka government aims to fill 72,000 vacancies within six months

The Karnataka government has set a six‑month deadline to recruit over 72,000 approved vacancies across multiple departments. Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara announced that two senior bureaucrats have been appointed to oversee the recruitment process, and an Additional Chief Secretary‑rank officer will monitor progress.

The Finance Department has approved recruitment for 40,009 posts, with an additional 32,177 posts earmarked under the Kalyana Karnataka cadre. Departments have been instructed to issue recruitment notifications within two months, complete examinations within four months, and issue appointment orders by the six‑month deadline. Responsibility for direct recruitment in 17 departments and 34 departments has been assigned to senior IAS officials to ensure timely completion.
