Kumbo Diocese celebrates 20 years of Bishop George Nkuo

The Kumbo Diocese celebrated the 20th anniversary of Bishop George Nkuo’s episcopal ordination with a thanksgiving Mass at St. Augustine’s College in Nso. The event, held on the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, brought together clergy, students, and the faithful to honor his two decades of service.

Bishop Nkuo’s tenure has been marked by significant challenges, as the diocese has spent approximately half of his 20-year episcopacy amidst armed conflict in the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon. During the celebration, Bishop Nkuo reflected on the hardships faced by his congregation, noting that many people approach the Church carrying the burdens of daily difficulties and tensions.

In his reflections, the Bishop expressed a desire to approach his pastoral duties with greater hope and empathy. He sought spiritual strength to nourish his community with the Gospel and to support those facing suffering, even while navigating his own need for encouragement during the ongoing regional crisis.
