Kumho Petrochemical Group expands cooperation with Weihai, China

Kumho Petrochemical Group is expanding its cooperation with Weihai, Shandong Province, China, moving beyond tourism into future industries such as new materials and batteries.

On January 27, Kumho Petrochemical Group Chairman Chan-koo Park and other executives met with Weihai Mayor Kong Panping and city government officials to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation. The group has maintained a relationship with the region for five years, primarily through Kumho Resort, which operates the Asiana Weihai Country Club (AWCC). Recent renovations to the golf course have contributed to local tourism in Weihai.

During the meeting, Mayor Kong Panping expressed interest in broadening the scope of collaboration to include advanced manufacturing, new materials, and the battery industry. He pledged continued administrative support to realize mutual benefits and win-win cooperation.
