Kumluca knife attack: Suspect surrenders to police saying 'Game Over
In the Kumluca district of Antalya, 60-year-old Edip Sağlam was attacked by a stranger while sitting on his motorcycle and talking on his phone. The assailant, identified as İ. Y., stabbed Sağlam twice, causing injuries to his waist and hip areas.
Following the attack, Sağlam attempted to chase the assailant before collapsing due to blood loss. He was subsequently transported to Kumluca State Hospital, where he received eight stitches.
Police officers located the suspect near Kumluca Kulesi. After a brief period of resistance, the suspect dropped his knife and surrendered to authorities, reportedly saying, “Game Over”. The suspect, who is noted to have a 40 percent mental disability, has been referred to court and sent to a specialized hospital in Adana for treatment.
