Kumud Kumar Kataki elected President of All Assam Employees' Association

Kumud Kumar Kataki, an Excise Inspector based in Sorbhog, has been elected as the President of the All Assam Employees' Association (Sadou Asam Karmachari Parishad). The election was conducted during the organization's biennial general meeting, which took place over three days from October 10 to 12 in Nalbari, Assam.

Kataki, who has representative experience with the Assam Excise Employees' Association, was celebrated by colleagues following the announcement. Rajiv Kakati of the Excise Employees’ Union described the election as an unprecedented achievement that brings pride to the Excise Department. Senior officer Sailendra Pandey also noted that Kataki’s leadership of the state’s apex employee body brings prestige to his department.

The Sadou Asam Karmachari Parishad is a significant socio-political organization in Assam that represents the collective interests of state government employees. The body has a historical role in the region's political landscape, having participated in movements such as the Assam Agitation.
