Kuningan Police target non-standard motorcycle exhausts

The Kuningan Police Traffic Unit (Satlantas Polres Kuningan) is intensifying efforts to curb the use of non-standard motorcycle exhausts, locally known as ‘knalpot brong,’ in the Ciawigebang District. The initiative aims to address public complaints regarding noise disturbances and to maintain traffic order and safety.

Police officials are employing both pre-emptive and preventive strategies. Pre-emptive measures include educational socialization to build public awareness about traffic regulations, while preventive measures involve patrols and monitoring at high-risk locations. AKP Aktuin Moniharapon, representing the Kuningan Police Chief, emphasized that the goal is to foster a habit of traffic discipline rather than focusing solely on enforcement. Authorities are also encouraging parents to supervise their children's vehicle use to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
