Kunshan Chemitec explores automotive component investment in Tunisia
Kunshan Chemitec Automotive Components, a Chinese company specializing in automotive components, is exploring the establishment of a production unit in Tunisia. A delegation led by CEO Liu Yichao met with the Agency for the Promotion of Industry and Innovation (APII) to discuss investment opportunities, regulatory procedures, and available tax incentives.
The proposed project involves setting up an industrial unit covering approximately 4,000 square meters. Initial investment is estimated at over 3 million euros, with the potential to create between 30 and 50 direct jobs during the startup phase.
Founded in 2005, Kunshan Chemitec operates in six countries and focuses on the manufacturing and export of wiring harnesses and cable protection solutions, including adhesive tapes, sleeves, braided tubes, and foams. The company serves several international groups within the automotive sector. This potential expansion highlights growing interest from Chinese firms in Tunisia’s industrial landscape and its proximity to European markets.
