Kupres is the highest town in Bosnia and Herzegovina, situated at an altitude of approximately 1,200 meters in the Kupres field. The region is characterized by its climate, with snow falling up to 55 days per year, and is home to three ski resorts despite having a population of fewer than 5,000. The area is also noted for its natural resources, including approximately 365 water sources and the Kukavčko glacial lake. Additionally, the traditional manual grass mowing competition at Strljanica was inscribed on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list in 2020.
