Kurban Berdiyev criticizes penalty decision in Turan Tovuz draw

In the Azerbaijan Misli Premyer Liqa, Turan Tovuz played to a 2-2 draw against Araz-Naxçıvan. Following the match, Turan Tovuz head coach Kurban Berdiyev expressed frustration over a controversial penalty decision, stating, “I have never seen such a penalty in my career.” Berdiyev noted that the team was forced to play with ten men after a defender was injured and no substitutions remained. He added that while he does not debate the penalty itself, he expected the VAR review to potentially overturn the decision as there appeared to be no foot contact.

In the Substitute League, recent Round 4 matches saw Qəbələ-2 secure a dominant 8-0 victory over İmişli-2, with goals from Samir Ağayev, Allahverdi Şirinov, Cuma Hüseynov, Rəvan Əsədov, and Daniel Eşimoxay. Other results included Neftçi-2 defeating Şəfa-2 4-0, Qarabağ-2 winning 3-1 against Araz-Naxçıvan-2, and Sumqayıt-2 securing a 1-0 win over Turan Tovuz-2.
