Kurdish political and social developments across Iraq, Syria, and Iran

Various political and social developments are unfolding across the Kurdish regions. In Iraq, the Federal Supreme Court has postponed hearings regarding three legal challenges against the Kurdistan Regional Government and its parliament until November 26. These challenges include requests to declare the regional government an administrator and to dissolve the sixth parliamentary term.

In Syria, activists in Kobanê and Qamishli have organized demonstrations to support the use of the Kurdish language in education and public institutions, protesting decisions to limit Kurdish language instruction. Meanwhile, in Sulaymaniyah, political and civil society leaders have called for the release of Abdullah Öcalan, stating that his freedom is a legal and political necessity for regional stability.

In Iran, concerns have been raised regarding the disappearance of Luqman Pourmand, a 36-year-old man detained in Urmia six months ago. Reports indicate he has been held without legal documentation, and his family has been denied access to a lawyer or information regarding his whereabouts. Additionally, the Kurdish Women's Freedom Party announced the passing of commander Dilan Sharnakh, who died of cancer after 32 years of activism.
