Kurtis Rourke injury update provided by 49ers coach
San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Klay Kubiak provided an update on quarterback Kurtis Rourke following a rib injury sustained during the preseason opener against the Tennessee Titans. Although Rourke was taken to the hospital at halftime due to breathing difficulties, initial evaluations showed no fractures, and he was released that same night.
Rourke, who missed the previous season recovering from ACL surgery, was praised by Kubiak for his performance in managing the huddle and executing plays during his first competitive game in nearly two years. While Rourke did not participate in recent practices, the team does not expect his absence to be long-term.
