Sri Lanka announces Test squad for Pakistan series

Sri Lanka has announced its Test squad for the upcoming two-match series against Pakistan, scheduled to begin on November 9. Kusal Mendis has been appointed captain following Dhananjaya de Silva stepping down from the role last week. De Silva remains part of the squad.

The selection features several changes and returns. Pathum Nissanka is set to return to the red-ball setup following wrist surgery. The squad also sees the return of Dinesh Chandimal and includes new names such as wicketkeeper-batter Anjala Bandara and pacer Eshan Malinga.

To bolster the bowling attack, the squad includes five pacers: Eshan Malinga, Asitha Fernando, Lahiru Kumara, Milan Rathnayaka, and Dilshan Madushanka. Several players from the previous series against India, including Kamil Mishara, Sahan Arachchige, Lahiru Udara, Niroshan Dickwella, and Vishwa Fernando, have been omitted.
