Kushiro hosts cheese and sweets fair to promote local dairy

The Kushiro General Subprefectural Bureau is hosting the ‘Kushiro Cheese & Sweets Fair’ to promote the appeal of locally produced cheese and expand consumption to support the regional dairy industry.

Now in its seventh year, the event features participation from eight local cheese workshops and 17 confectioneries and restaurants. Participating establishments are offering unique products, including pizzas, meat gratins, hot sandwiches, cheesecakes, and cheese Mont Blancs.

A stamp rally is being held alongside the fair, running until November 13. Participants can collect stamps at participating stores to enter a lottery for prizes, such as sets of Kushiro-produced natural cheese or milk gift vouchers.
