Kusini Yengi nears loan move back to Japan's J1 League
Australian international forward Kusini Yengi is reportedly nearing a loan move back to Japan's J1 League. According to reports from the Scottish outlet ‘Press & Journal’, the 27-year-old striker currently playing for Aberdeen FC is expected to return to Japan following a decline in his standing within the Scottish club's squad.
Yengi previously played for Cerezo Osaka on a loan deal with an option to buy, but his tenure was interrupted by a thigh injury that required surgery. After returning to Aberdeen this summer to complete rehabilitation, his position in the team has further diminished due to the recent signings of Ayub Mroua and Mitchy Ntelo, as well as competition from captain Kevin Nisbet.
While the specific J1 club interested in his services has not been named, reports suggest a move is highly likely. Yengi has earned 11 caps and scored 6 goals for the Australian national team.
