Kutina and Kaštela launch new playgrounds and support centres for children

The municipality of Kutina received more than €34,000 in non‑reimbursable funding from Croatia’s Ministry of Demography and Settlement to build a modern, safe playground in the Selištu neighbourhood. The project, costing €43,275, will include slides, swings, a climbing frame and other equipment for children aged one to thirteen. Mayor Zlatko Babić inspected the site with local officials, emphasizing the aim of improving quality of life for young families in the area.

In Kaštela, the non‑profit Association "Naša dica" opened newly renovated rooms for children with developmental challenges. The refurbishment was financed by the city, the Split‑Dalmatia County, several companies (including Capax, Cemex, Split Airport) and local craftsmen, with additional support from the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth. The centre now employs about 40 staff members and expands programmes such as inclusive sports, educational support and professional training for specialists.

Both initiatives reflect increasing municipal and community investment in facilities that support children and families in Croatia’s suburban settlements.
