Kutle Khan’s manager disputes claims regarding Shilpa Rao incident

Sharad Sharma, the manager for folk musician Kutle Khan, has disputed social media allegations that Khan interrupted singer Shilpa Rao during the 10th-anniversary Bollywood Music Project (BMP) in Mumbai.

The controversy arose when Rao’s performance was abruptly cut short while she was addressing the audience. While initial backlash suggested Khan had disrupted Rao’s closing remarks, Sharma claims that Rao actually interrupted Khan’s set to thank the audience after she had already left the stage.

Sharma noted that the festival organizers had reduced Khan’s allotted stage time from the standard 15–20 minutes to approximately 10 minutes. He further alleged that Rao’s management team is spreading a false narrative and stated that Khan’s team holds no personal grudge against Rao, whom he described as a friend.

Event organizers previously issued an apology for the disruption, citing scheduling delays and venue curfew restrictions as the primary causes for the shortened sets.
