Kutná Hora faces potential minority council rule
Post-election negotiations in Kutná Hora have reached a stalemate, potentially leading to the formation of a minority council. Lukáš Seifert, the current mayor and leader of the winning Naší Kutná Hora movement, stated that demands from certain groups for council representation do not align with the actual election results.
Naší Kutná Hora, composed of ODS with support from independent candidates and TOP 09, holds 13 of the 27 seats in the city assembly. The group seeks a majority in the municipal council along with the mayoral and first deputy mayoral positions. To achieve a majority, they require only one additional vote.
Other parties in the assembly include ANO, LIPISTAN, Alternativa pro Vás, Město po lidi, and SPD. The inaugural assembly meeting to decide the new city leadership is scheduled for Tuesday, November 3. Seifert noted that an emergency solution may be necessary if a coalition agreement cannot be reached.
