Kutná Hora hosts documentary screening to complement Iraqi Kurdistan photography exhibition
A documentary film titled ‘Kurdistán, má láska’ will be screened on September 21 at the Chapel of the Body of Christ in Kutná Hora. The screening is designed to complement the ongoing photography exhibition ‘DIALOGY: V krajině granátovníků’, which features works by French-Laotian photographer Lâm Duc Hiên.
Hiên’s photographs capture the landscapes, daily life, and people of Iraqi Kurdistan, focusing on regions affected by conflict and migration. The documentary, directed by John Paul Leperse, follows the photographer’s return to the region to meet individuals whose lives have been shaped by local events, including a young Yazidi named Ghazwan who escaped Islamic State captivity.
The event, organized by the city of Kutná Hora in collaboration with the photographer, will include Czech subtitles and live music following the film. The exhibition is hosted within the St. Barbara Church complex and the Chapel of the Body of Christ.
