Kutno migration protest leads to police interventions

Hundreds of people participated in a protest organized by the Konfederacja party in Kutno under the slogan ‘Bezpieczni Polacy. Silne granice’ (Safe Poles. Strong Borders). The demonstration focused on migration policy and national security, specifically opposing mass immigration and the migration pact.

The protest was motivated in part by a recent violent incident on September 4 near Podrzeczna Street, where a 41-year-old resident of Kutno died following a heavy beating. A 29-year-old Georgian citizen has been detained in connection with that incident.

While the gathering at Wolności Square began peacefully with speeches and a minute of silence, the situation changed when a group of protesters began an unannounced march through the city streets. This unauthorized march blocked traffic on several roads, including Królewska and Barlickiego streets. Police intervened to manage the crowd and issued various fines and warnings for offenses including disturbing public order and using vulgar language.
