Kutsukazari announces detachable shoe decorations for functional footwear
Kutsukazari Co., Ltd., based in Nagoya, Japan, has announced ‘Kutsukazari’, a line of detachable shoe decorations designed to allow users to embellish comfortable footwear. The product aims to bridge the gap between functional, well-fitting shoes and aesthetic appeal, catering to individuals with foot concerns, such as bunions, or those who must wear functional shoes for work or lifestyle reasons.
The decorations, which include materials like satin ribbons, crystals, lace, and mizuhiki, are available in up to 28 colors. Unlike traditional shoe clips that attach to the exterior, these use a unique attachment system that fits between the foot and the shoe. The attachment consists of a flexible, ultra-thin metal plate (less than 1mm thick) that conforms to the shape of the heel or instep, allowing for a secure fit that can be applied or removed in approximately five seconds.
The company has secured two design registrations in Japan and has pending applications in the United States, EU, UK, China, South Korea, and Vietnam. A pre-sale campaign is scheduled to launch on the crowdfunding platform CAMPFIRE on September 26, 2026.
