Egyptian poultry market prices stabilize in late July 2026
On July 31 2026 the Egyptian poultry exchange reported that the average retail price of white chicken fell to about 74 Egyptian pounds per kilogram, a decrease of two pounds from the previous day. Wholesale prices on the exchange stayed between 58 and 59 pounds per kilogram. In contrast, locally raised “baladi” chicken rose to an average of 116 pounds, up three pounds.
Prices for other cuts were also listed: boneless breast (banih) around 250 pounds per kilogram, bone‑in breast about 205 pounds, and whole chickens (approximately 1.5 kg) near 318 pounds. Egg cartons remained stable, with red‑egg cartons at roughly 107 pounds for consumers and white‑egg cartons near 110 pounds.
In parallel, the Egyptian pound’s exchange rate against the US dollar showed no change in early‑morning trading, with most banks quoting roughly 51.1 pounds for buying dollars and 51.2 pounds for selling.
