Kuwait and Egypt Tighten Security for 2026 Secondary School Exams

Kuwait is set to begin its 2025/2026 secondary school examinations on 21 June, with 921,709 candidates across new and old curricula. The Ministry of Education has arranged 2,032 examination committees in 613 centres, enforcing strict controls such as prohibiting mobile phones, independent entry/exit doors, and enhanced inspection of test papers. Inspectors will also receive a financial incentive for their work.

In Egypt, authorities warn of Telegram groups, notably “Shawmij,” claiming they will leak exam papers six hours before testing. The Ministry of Education says it is monitoring such channels and will take legal action against operators. Security measures include sealed printing and transport of test materials, mandatory camera surveillance in exam rooms, and rigorous student screening to prevent electronic cheating. About 921,000 students are expected to sit for the exams nationwide.
