Kuwait authorities respond to separate dog attacks

Two separate dog attacks in Kuwait have resulted in injuries to a government employee and a local woman.

Mustafa Hamad Al-Saqr, an employee at the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources, was attacked by a pack of eight stray dogs during a break at the authority’s headquarters. The attack lasted nearly thirty minutes and left Al-Saqr with injuries across his body, including a deep wound to his leg and a serious hand injury. He is currently receiving treatment in intensive care at Al-Farwaniya Hospital.

In a second, unrelated incident, a Kuwaiti woman was injured by a dog while entering her home. Authorities determined the animal was owned by an individual, and the Interior Ministry has registered a case involving negligence and accidental injury.

First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Al Yousef Al Sabah visited both victims to monitor their conditions. In response to the incidents, officials have called for stronger measures to manage the spread of stray dogs in residential and industrial areas. The Interior Ministry has urged the public to report stray dog gatherings or safety threats via the emergency number 112.
