Kuwait condemns Iranian attacks on sovereignty and regional stability

Kuwait has condemned recent Iranian attacks, describing them as a violation of national sovereignty and a threat to regional security and stability. The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that these actions breach international law and the United Nations Charter, specifically citing UN Security Council Resolution 2817. Kuwait maintains its full right to defend its territory and vital facilities under Article 51 of the UN Charter.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed responsibility for a series of missile and drone strikes targeting U.S. assets in Kuwait, Bahrain, the UAE, Jordan, and Erbil, Iraq. In Kuwait, the attacks reportedly targeted the headquarters and residence of the commander at Ali Al-Salem base, as well as a drone hangar and launch platform, resulting in fires and casualties among U.S. personnel.

Speaking at the 118th session of the Arab League Economic and Social Council, Saad Al-Alati, Assistant Undersecretary at the Ministry of Finance, emphasized that security must now be viewed comprehensively, encompassing economic, food, energy, and supply chain security. He called for increased Arab solidarity and economic integration to build resilience against such rapid regional shifts and threats.
