Kuwait Fund expands cooperation with El Salvador in energy and education
The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) is expanding its cooperation with El Salvador through new initiatives in renewable energy and education infrastructure.
KFAED has signed a loan agreement of approximately USD 9.6 million to finance the San Matías Solar Photovoltaic Plant. The 11 MWp utility-scale project, located northwest of San Salvador, is expected to generate between 20 and 25 GWh of electricity annually. The project is estimated to cost a total of USD 13.95 million and is slated for completion by 2028.
Additionally, KFAED has expressed interest in supporting El Salvador’s ‘Two Schools a Day’ project. Acting Director Rashaid Al-Bader visited schools in San Salvador to observe the government’s efforts to renovate and modernize public school infrastructure. The fund is exploring ways to contribute to the modernization of the country’s school system to support long-term educational development.
