Kuwait Ministry of Health opens traveler health clinic in Salwa

The Kuwait Ministry of Health has inaugurated a specialized traveler health clinic at the Salwa Specialized Center within the Hawalli Health District. The opening was accompanied by an awareness exhibition covering various stages of travel health, including pre-travel preparation, preventive measures during transit, and managing potential health symptoms upon return.

Dr. Maryam Mansouri, Head of the Public Health Services Department in the Hawalli Health District, stated that the clinic aims to expand preventive services for both citizens and residents. She emphasized that travel medicine involves more than just vaccinations; it includes individualized health risk assessments based on a traveler’s destination, trip duration, nature of travel, and personal health status.

The clinic provides consultations, reviews necessary vaccinations, and offers guidance on preventing travel-related illnesses, such as vector-borne diseases, food and water-borne illnesses, and respiratory infections. The Ministry of Health currently operates nine traveler health clinics distributed across various governorates in the country to facilitate access to essential preventive care.
