Kuwait Oil Company awards billions in contracts and L&T secures major EPC order

Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) signed 129 contracts worth approximately 2.2 billion Kuwaiti dinars during the first half of 2026. The agreements cover drilling and well‑maintenance rigs, flow‑line construction, cementing, technical consultancy, cybersecurity, medical services, and large‑scale projects such as the integrated Mutriba project and the Wadi Al‑Ahmadi Research Center. These contracts are part of KOC’s strategy to expand production capacity and upgrade oil‑field infrastructure.

Indian engineering group Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore won a major engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) order from KOC for the Jurassic Light Oil export facilities. The scope includes the lump‑sum turnkey delivery of six new crude‑oil storage tanks (each 618,000 bbl capacity), new pipelines and comprehensive upgrades to Kuwait’s existing crude‑loading and export network. L&T’s senior vice‑president E S Sathyanarayanan said the project is an important investment in Kuwait’s energy sector and demonstrates confidence in L&T’s capability to execute complex hydrocarbon projects.
