Kuwait has issued four decrees revoking the citizenship of 12 individuals, according to the Official Gazette. The decision follows a proposal by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah and subsequent approval by the Council of Ministers.
The decrees, numbered 165 through 168 of 2026, cite the Kuwaiti Nationality Law and relevant Amiri Orders as the legal basis for the revocations. Several of the decrees also extend the loss of citizenship to any individuals who had acquired it through dependency on the named persons.
The specific individuals named in the decrees include Mubarak Muhammad Saad Awdan Al-Ajmi, Atta Mubarak Salem Al-Fadhli, Faiqa Jassim Mohammed, and Majid Rashid Abdul Aziz Al-Mudayan, among others. The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior is tasked with implementing these decisions, which took effect upon their issuance on October 11, 2026.
