Kuwait updates history curriculum to include 2026 Iranian attacks

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Education has updated its tenth-grade history curriculum to include documentation of Iranian missile and drone attacks that occurred in 2026. The new textbook devotes two pages to describing these events as a “heinous Iranian aggression” that violated Kuwaiti sovereignty and security.

The curriculum details how the attacks targeted vital infrastructure and civilian sites, including water desalination plants, power generation facilities, Kuwait International Airport, the Social Security Institution building, and the ministries complex. The text notes that these strikes necessitated an increase in the readiness of government institutions.

In addition to documenting the attacks, the curriculum emphasizes Kuwait’s stance of neutrality, stating the country was not a party to the conflict between the United States and Israel and Iran. It highlights the leadership of Amir Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in managing the crisis and underscores Kuwait’s commitment to international law, regional stability, and diplomatic de-escalation.
