KV Kortrijk dismisses coach Michiel Jonckheere

KV Kortrijk has dismissed head coach Michiel Jonckheere following a poor start to the Jupiler Pro League season. The decision follows a 3-0 defeat against La Louvière, which left the club with zero points from eighteen possible.

While initial reports suggested Jonckheere may have resigned, the coach has strongly denied this, stating that the club's board made the decision. In the interim, assistants Kurt Bataille, Markus Pflanz, and Christophe Lepoint are expected to oversee team operations.

Sven Vandenbroeck has emerged as a potential candidate to fill the vacancy. Vandenbroeck, who has a prior professional connection to sporting director Nils Vanneste, is reportedly returning to Belgium to discuss his future.
