Kvanj Tunnel breakthrough marks milestone for Corridor Vc
The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has celebrated the successful breakthrough of the Kvanj Tunnel, a critical component of the Corridor Vc strategic infrastructure project. The breakthrough of the 2,645-meter-long right tube marks a significant milestone in connecting the country's transport networks.
Prime Minister Nermin Nikšić and Minister of Transport and Communications Andrijana Katić attended the ceremony. Nikšić stated that the tunnel is intended to link Mostar and Počitelj with the rest of Corridor Vc, effectively connecting the Herzegovina region to Sarajevo, northern Bosnia, Croatia, and the broader European market.
While the breakthrough is a major achievement, officials noted that work is ongoing. Future efforts will focus on completing the tunnel and the Mostar Jug – Kvanj section to ensure the highway reaches its full functional capacity.
