Kvinnherad resident targeted in online sextortion attempt

A resident of Kvinnherad has been targeted in a ‘sextortion’ attempt, where scammers threaten to release intimate images unless money is paid. Police Station Chief Sigurd Børve noted that this is a known phenomenon, often perpetrated by individuals operating from abroad.

The Vest Police District reported that the material used in the Kvinnherad case was identical to that used in five other similar incidents reported in a short period. Authorities advise victims not to engage with the senders, not to pay any demands, and to preserve all documentation of the attempt.
