Kwame-Danso Police Station Closed After Youth Attack in Ghana

On August 5, 2026, a group of irate youths attacked police officers and Judicial Service personnel in Kwame-Danso, Sene West District, while officers were escorting a suspect to court. The incident prompted the Bono East Regional Police Administration to temporarily shut the Kwame‑Danso Police Station for safety reasons.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Shaibu Abubakari Sadique‑Osei described the event as "unfortunate," appealed to residents for support of security agencies, and said calm had since been restored. He confirmed that the regional command is coordinating with the Police Headquarters in Accra to assess the situation and reopen the station as soon as security conditions allow.
