Kwara APC Launches Unity Rally Ahead of 2027 Elections Amid Internal Tensions
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nigeria’s Kwara State staged a statewide rally to kick off its 2027 election campaign, praising peaceful primaries and pledging loyalty to President Bola Tinubu and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. Party officials said reconciliation committees had been set up to address any disputes and emphasized that no “losers” would be left out of the upcoming contests.
At the same time, the party’s internal cohesion is being tested. Around ten APC governorship aspirants have petitioned Tinubu, accusing the state leadership of sidelining key stakeholders. Senator Gbemisola Rukayat Saraki, a prominent Kwara figure who has remained silent on the controversy, has become the focus of speculation about the future of her political movement and the party’s unity.
