Kwara APC leaders clash with G15 as reconciliation committee seeks peace

Prominent political figures in Kwara State issued a joint statement condemning the G15 group for allegedly hijacking the Otoge movement and threatening President Bola Tinubu over the party’s electoral prospects. The leaders, including Hon. Raji Atolagbe Muhammad and Alhaji Rahim Alamoyo, accused the G15 of political blackmail and warned that the movement should not be used for personal ambitions.

In response to the intra‑party tensions, the Kwara State All Progressives Congress formed a Reconciliation Committee chaired by retired Colonel AbdulWahab Ademola Lawal. Lawal appealed to aggrieved members to engage in dialogue, refrain from inflammatory remarks, and work toward unity ahead of the 2027 general election. The committee will hold consultative meetings across the three senatorial districts, engage G15 members, and submit a report with recommendations to the state executive.

Both initiatives reflect ongoing efforts to resolve disputes stemming from recent APC primary elections and to preserve the party’s dominance in Kwara.
