Kwara North APC elders caution monarchs against partisan politics

Political tensions have emerged in Kwara North following a gathering of traditional rulers and stakeholders in Bode Saadu. During the meeting, monarchs and political leaders pledged support for President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections, specifically endorsing Saliu Yakubu Danladi and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

In response, members of the Otoge Progressives (TOP) and APC elders in the Kwara North senatorial district issued a statement cautioning royal fathers against partisan political involvement. The group urged traditional rulers to maintain their neutrality and moral authority, arguing that they should serve all subjects regardless of political affiliation to avoid jeopardizing the sanctity of the institution.
