Kwara PDP urges INEC to probe alleged influx of foreign nationals
The Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to investigate allegations that foreign nationals are being brought into the state to influence the 2027 general elections.
During a pre-election training workshop in Ilorin for party women, PDP State Chairman Issa Adamu Bawa alleged that these non-citizens may have already been issued voter cards to facilitate electoral malpractice. Bawa specifically identified the Baruten Local Government Area in the Kwara North district as an area involved in these activities. The party expressed concern that such actions are a deliberate attempt to subvert the will of the Nigerian electorate and undermine democratic legitimacy.
In addition to the investigation into foreign nationals, the PDP urged INEC to act as a neutral umpire by addressing the removal of party billboards by government agencies and curbing character assassination among politicians. The party leadership emphasized that proactive intervention is necessary to protect the sanctity of the vote before the election cycle intensifies.
