APC Sweeps Gombe LG Elections and Mobilises 2027 Campaign Across Nigeria

The All Progressives Congress (APC) recorded a clean sweep in Gombe State’s local government elections, winning all 24 chairmanship positions and the 240 councillorship seats in the 24 councils and Local Council Development Areas.

In Kano, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf ordered all political appointees to register with the APC and pledged unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re‑election, approving plots of land and a N100,000 payment for over 300 political aides. Similar commitments were voiced by Edo Governor Monday Okpebholo, who said the 2.5 million votes he promises for Tinubu will come from ongoing development projects such as the new Jattu market.

APC officials in Osun State denied any link to reported political violence, reiterating the party’s commitment to peaceful elections. A national support group, Renewed Hope for the Elderly, announced plans to mobilise about 24 million senior‑citizen votes for Tinubu in exchange for comprehensive welfare reforms.

National APC chairman Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje refuted a viral report that he had accused the Kano administration of mismanaging public funds. Meanwhile, an APC youth coalition in Kwara endorsed Governor Abdul Rahman Abdul Razaq’s administration and backed Speaker Yakubu Danladi‑Salihu as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 election.
