Kwara State Police Commissioner launches surprise inspections

Kwara State Commissioner of Police Ojo Adekimi has launched a series of unannounced inspections of police divisions and formations across the state. The initiative aims to assess officer readiness, discipline, and working conditions firsthand.

The inspections began in the Ilorin metropolis, covering the Area Command, Metro, and 12 divisional headquarters. According to Police Public Relations Officer Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the goal is to identify operational challenges, capability gaps, and the professional commitment of personnel.

During the visits, Adekimi issued several directives, including a mandate for station guards to remain alert as the first line of defense and a requirement for policing to be proactive and intelligence-driven. He also emphasized a zero-tolerance policy regarding corruption, extortion, and unethical practices, warning that culpable officers will face legal and disciplinary action.
