Kwasi Sibo faces jersey dispute and national team scrutiny

Ghanaian midfielder Kwasi Sibo is facing scrutiny following his performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup and a personal dispute involving a football jersey.

Actor Yaw Dabo has accused Sibo of ‘stealing’ a Jude Bellingham jersey. Dabo claims that after a match in Boston, Bellingham agreed to gift him the shirt via Sibo. However, Dabo alleges that Sibo kept the jersey for himself after being seen wearing it on social media. Dabo has publicly demanded the return of the shirt, noting his long-standing friendship with Bellingham.

Separately, Databank Ghana CEO Kojo Addae-Mensah has questioned Sibo’s future with the Black Stars. Despite playing in all four of Ghana’s matches during the World Cup, Addae-Mensah stated that the 28-year-old is “not good enough” to represent the national team at the senior level. Sibo is currently a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Real Oviedo.
