Kwidzyn Castle to undergo major three-year renovation

The Kwidzyn Castle in Poland is set to undergo its largest renovation in fifty years, which will result in the site being completely closed to tourists for approximately three years. The project, overseen by the Malbork Castle Museum, includes extensive conservation work, technical modernization, and the creation of new permanent exhibitions.

Work will cover both the interior and the exterior structure, including the adaptation of previously unused rooms for new functions. The investment is funded by the European Union’s ‘FEnIKS 2021–2027’ program, with total costs exceeding 64 million PLN, of which 41.5 million PLN is provided by EU subsidies. The renovation process is scheduled to begin in early September.
