Kwon Soon-woo and Hong Seong-chan advance in Asian Games men's doubles

South Korean tennis players Kwon Soon-woo and Hong Seong-chan advanced to the second round of the men's doubles at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. The duo defeated Pakistan's Muzaffar Murtaza and Aisam-ul-Haq Khawaja with a score of 2-0 (7-5, 6-4) at the Higashiyama Park Tennis Center in Nagoya, Japan.

Seeking their first Asian Games gold medal in 12 years, the pair is scheduled to face Japan's Yusuke Kusuhara and Shunsuke Nakagawa in the round of 16 to compete for a spot in the quarterfinals.

In other results, South Korea's mixed doubles teams Gu Yeon-woo and Shin Woo-bin, as well as Lee Eun-hye and Shin San-hee, both secured victories against Thai opponents. The women's doubles team of Park So-hyun and Jeong Bo-young advanced to the second round following an opponent's withdrawal.
