Kwai Chung Estate double fatality investigation

Police are investigating a double fatality at Kwai Chung Estate in Hong Kong after an elderly man fell to his death and a woman was found dead inside their apartment.

At approximately 11:32 p.m., an 80-year-old man fell from a high-floor unit in Chun Kwai House and died at the scene. Upon entering the apartment, officers discovered the body of a 66-year-old woman, identified as the man's wife. The woman had multiple wounds suspected to have been caused by a sharp object.

The deceased couple resided in the unit; the woman worked as an airport cleaner, while the man was unemployed. Reports indicate that family members had recently been told of potential emotional issues and suicidal thoughts.

Authorities have classified the case as a murder and a fall from height, handing the investigation over to the Kwai Chung District Crime Unit. Police have cordoned off the area to conduct forensic searches and determine the sequence of events.
