Kyiv residents proceed with wedding after Russian strike damages home
A Russian strike targeting a warehouse in Kyiv sent a blast wave through an apartment building on the eve of a couple's wedding. The explosion blew out windows and scattered furniture, forcing Liudmyla Ryzhak and her fiancé, Leonid Ryzhak, to flee to a shelter with a child.
Despite the damage to their home and the need to retrieve wedding attire from the rubble, the couple proceeded with their ceremony in the capital. Leonid Ryzhak, a Ukrainian soldier, had recently returned from the front lines in eastern Ukraine to marry Liudmyla.
The attacks occurred following a visit by U.S. envoys to Ukraine, which had briefly coincided with a lull in hostilities. Russian drone and missile assaults resumed, with explosions reported in Kyiv for several hours overnight.
