Kyla's 'Do You Mind' named TikTok's UK song of the summer

British singer Kyla’s 2008 garage track ‘Do You Mind’ has been named TikTok’s song of the summer in the UK. The song experienced a massive resurgence on the platform, generating over 500 million views from approximately 650,000 videos posted in the UK during the summer season.

While the track gained global recognition in 2016 after being sampled by Canadian rapper Drake in his hit ‘One Dance’, Kyla noted that this recent trend provides a sense of personal validation. She described the experience as ‘surreal’ and ‘incredible’, stating that this success feels more directly tied to her own work.

The song's popularity was further highlighted when Jorja Smith invited Kyla to perform the track during her headline set at the All Points East festival in London, where she performed for an audience of approximately 40,000 people.
