Kyle Busch Honored with Hall of Fame Induction and Track Tributes

Two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch died on May 21 after pneumonia progressed to sepsis. He was posthumously named to the 2026 West Coast Stock Car/Motorsports Hall of Fame class, joining other racing legends. The enshrinement ceremony is scheduled for October 1 at the South Point Hotel Casino & Spa in Las Vegas.

Sonoma Raceway also commemorated Busch by dedicating Turn 8 to his iconic No. 8 and adding him to the track’s Wall of Fame, with an official induction planned. The venue displayed a plaque and a decal bearing his number, and fans observed silent laps and gestures of eight fingers in his honor. Similar tributes have appeared at other circuits, including a “Rowdy” painting at Pocono and a special 18‑flag celebration by Denny Hamlin.

Busch finished his career with 234 wins across NASCAR’s top three series, the most ever, and five victories at Sonoma, highlighted by a 2015 comeback win after a severe injury earlier that year.
