Brother and retired driver Kurt Busch broke his silence with an emotional Instagram tribute, recalling childhood moments, praising Kyle’s passion and dedication, and thanking fans for their support. The post featured photos from their youth and from Kyle’s racing career.

Kyle’s widow Samantha also posted gratitude for the outpouring of kindness. Their 11‑year‑old son, Brexton Busch, returned to social media on June 8, sharing images of his practice runs in a neon‑green No. 18 car at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Fans and the racing community offered encouragement, and Richard Childress Racing said the iconic No. 8 will be kept available for Brexton should he choose a NASCAR career.
