Kyle Freeland placed on Colorado Rockies injured list

The Colorado Rockies have placed starting pitcher Kyle Freeland on the 15-day injured list due to a pinched nerve. The move was made retroactive to Friday.

Freeland experienced pain extending from his neck to his fingers during a game against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. Although manager Warren Schaeffer noted that Freeland initially felt better, a subsequent bullpen session was unsuccessful because his shoulder did not feel right.

Freeland currently leads the Rockies in strikeouts with 103 and innings pitched with 124 1/3. To fill his roster spot, the Rockies have selected the contract of right-hander Blake Adams from Triple-A Albuquerque.
