Kyle Kennedy, granddaughter of Robert F. Kennedy, dies at 42

Kyle Francis Kennedy, granddaughter of former U.S. Senator Robert F. Kennedy and Ethel Kennedy, has died at the age of 42. According to an obituary published by Burke Funeral Homes and reports from People magazine, she passed away peacefully at her home in Westwood, Massachusetts, on September 21. The exact cause of death has not yet been officially determined and remains under investigation.

Kennedy was a dedicated educator and disability rights advocate. After studying at Georgetown and earning master's degrees from Pace University and Harvard University, she worked to improve educational access for disadvantaged children. Following a severe spinal cord injury in 2020 that resulted in long-term paralysis, she became a vocal advocate for the disabled community, testifying before the Massachusetts State House regarding healthcare discrimination.

She is survived by her two sons, Conor, 12, and Declan, 10, as well as her mother, Victoria Denise Gifford. Her life was marked by both professional achievement and personal tragedy, including the loss of her father, Michael Kennedy, in a 1997 skiing accident and the death of her daughter, Josephine, shortly after birth.
