Kyle Larson wins Knoxville Nationals qualifying night
Kyle Larson secured a victory during Toyota Qualifying Night at the 65th NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals in Knoxville, Iowa. Driving the Paul Silva No. 57, Larson moved from the fourth row to overtake Garet Williamson on lap 21 to claim his 15th win at the venue.
Despite his success in the preliminary race, Larson will not compete in the prestigious Knoxville Nationals main event this Saturday. Due to scheduling conflicts with the NASCAR Cup Series race at Richmond Raceway, Larson will prioritize his Hendrick Motorsports commitments. When asked about missing the main event, Larson stated, ‘It’s not a big deal,’ noting that he cannot be in two places at once unless weather delays one of the races.
The qualifying night race featured several incidents, including spins by Kaleb Johnson and Tasker Phillips. Larson’s win earned him $12,000 and established him as the high point driver heading into the weekend.
